1957 356 A Super Coupe

Description
This 1957 356A 1600S Coupe, refinished in rare, period-correct, Aquamarine Metallic over red leather, was the recipient of a major mechanical (engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, electrical) and bare-metal cosmetic restoration, completed in Spring, 2023. It is a numbers-matching (including body panels) T2 Coupe per Kardex, with only three previous owners. The original engine was rebuilt to factory ’S’ specifications. Only the floor was replaced. All brightwork was renewed or replaced and all metal was powder-coated.
The understated metallic blue exterior, very unique in the 1950s, is complemented by 15”color-matched, painted steel wheels and ‘Baby Moon’ hubcaps, color-matched bumpers with chrome/rubber trim, chrome overriders, chrome/rubber lower side trim, and Reutter Custom Coachwork badging on the right front fender.
Its outstanding red leather interior features a newly-refinished steering wheel, period-correct Blaupunkt AM/FM/SW radio, and Meisterschaften Deutsche Sportwagen dashboard badge.
This 356A Coupe, with its numbers-matching, freshly rebuilt 1.6L flat-four engine, produces as much as 75 HP at 5000 RPM and 86 lbs.-ft torque at 3700 RPM. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a restored four-speed manual transmission.
