Description

One of 823 Produced for US Market

This extraordinary 1989 Porsche 911 Speedster (Option M503) is one of only 823 US-market examples produced between January 1989 and July 1989 and only one of 471 produced in Black. At the direction of Porsche President Peter Schutz, and influence of his wife Sheila Harris-Schutz, the Speedster model, featuring a race-inspired, raked windshield and minimalist creature-comfort features, was reintroduced to the Porsche lineup after an absence of 31 years. This example was delivered new to Carlsen Porsche in Palo Alto, California. The clean Carfax reflects no accidents or incidents, and shows registration history in California, Nevada, Colorado, New Hampshire, and Montana.

The sculpted exterior of this Non-Metallic Black Speedster is complemented by softly-flared fenders over staggered, 16″ Black Fuchs wheels, and Pirelli P7 Cinturato tires, a fiberglass twin-hump convertible-top rear deck, black fabric top, integrated fog lights, rear bumperettes, and a single exhaust outlet.

Its gorgeous Black Leather Interior featuresair conditioning, Sport Seats, four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, five gauge VDO instrumentation, Blaupunkt AM/FM/Cassette audio system, and Speedster-script floor mats. The six-digit odometer shows 7,500 miles.

The 3.2-liter flat-six features Bosch fuel injection. It is factory rated at 217 HP @ 5900 rpm with torque at 195 lb-ft @ 4800 rpm. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via the bulletproof G50 five-speed manual transaxle. Black Porsche-script calipers over cross-drilled rotors provide superior braking.

The sale of this rare 1989 Porsche Speedster, located in California, includes a clear title, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, a stamped maintenance log, and a window sticker that lists initial delivery to Carlsen Porsche in Palo Alto, California.
